"PHP is not a step back — it is a powerful step forward. For adults in acute distress, the structure and intensity of daily care can be the turning point."

PHP is ideal for adults stepping down from inpatient hospitalization, those in acute mental health crisis who are medically stable, or individuals who have tried outpatient therapy without sufficient progress and need a more intensive level of support.

What to Expect

Step 1 — Psychiatric Evaluation & Assessment
Before starting PHP, every client completes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and clinical assessment. This determines your current level of distress, safety needs, and treatment goals — and confirms that PHP is the right level of care for where you are right now.
Step 2 — Your Individualized Treatment Plan +
Your assigned clinician and psychiatrist collaborate to build a personalized treatment plan — covering therapy modalities, medication management where appropriate, daily schedule, and clear step-down criteria. You are involved in every decision from the start.
Step 3 — Full Daily Therapeutic Schedule +
PHP runs five days a week with a structured full-day schedule. Each day includes multiple group therapy sessions, one individual therapy session, skills-based workshops, and where indicated, psychiatric check-ins. The consistency of daily care is what makes PHP uniquely effective.
Step 4 — Crisis Stabilization & Safety Planning +
For clients entering PHP in acute distress, our team provides immediate safety planning and crisis stabilization alongside the standard therapeutic schedule. You are never left to manage a crisis alone — our clinical team is present and accessible throughout every day of the program.
Step 5 — Weekly Progress Reviews +
Progress is reviewed formally every week with your full clinical team — therapist, psychiatrist, and case coordinator. Your treatment plan is adjusted as your needs evolve. PHP typically runs 2 to 4 weeks, with step-down to IOP or standard outpatient therapy when clinically appropriate.
Step 6 — Step-Down & Aftercare Planning +
Leaving PHP is a supported, structured transition — not an abrupt ending. Your team develops a comprehensive aftercare plan including step-down to IOP or outpatient therapy, medication continuity, community resources, and peer support connections to sustain your progress long-term.
